[ASEIC] ASEIC hosts ‘Eco-innovation and SCP Seminar’ in Cambodia 22 Oct 2018

On September 12th, ASEM SMEs Eco-Innovation Center (ASEIC) hosted the ‘Eco-innovation and Sustainable Consumption and Production(SCP) Seminar’, as a part of capacity building business that targets local SMEs, in Phnom Penh, Cambodia.
- The seminar was co-hosted by UNESCAP, Korea Environmental Industry & Technology Institute (KEITI), and the Cambodian Ministry of Environment and dealt with topics such as environmental labelling and business’ environmentally friendly production capacity building which accelerate sustainable production and consumption (SCP) related to the 12th goal of the UN’s sustainability and development goals (SDG). - The event provided a foundation for the dissemination of the environmental labelling in Cambodia through sharing experiences with Korea and introduced strategies for SME development through environmentally friendly production and environmental management. - Also, the seminar evaluated the cases of eco-innovation in the agriculture sector while reflecting on the characteristics of the industrial structure in Cambodia. ASEIC’s secretary general, Sejong Kim, emphasized that he “expects ? that the sharing the Korean experience of policy application and business strategy to search for sustainable growth will lead to expanding the base of eco-innovation in Cambodia and providing a foundation for the expansion of our business.”
