[ASEIC] Eco-innovation Capacity Building Seminar opened in Myanmar
22 Oct 2018
On August 9th, ASEM SMEs Eco-Innovation Center (ASEIC), in collaboration with the Myanmar Ministry of Industry, hosted a seminar on eco-innovation strategies for local SMEs and environmental management at the Novotel Hotel in Yangon, Myanmar.

- The main topics of the seminar were eco-innovation strategy for creating added value in the agriculture sector through reflecting on the characteristics of the industrial structure in Myanmar and eco-innovation application plan and environmental management for sustainable production – as per the sustainable development goals – through case analysis.

- The purpose of the seminar was to contribute to the growth opportunity and foundation of Myanmar’s SMEs based on the experiences and cases in Korea.

The secretary general of ASEIC, Sejong Kim, emphasized that “through this event, we hope to provide an opportunity to find a cooperation scheme that will allow the expansion of Korean SMEs into Myanmar and share the experience of Korean businesses to find a strategy for sustainable growth.”

ASEIC and the Myanmar Ministry of Industry signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) through this event. Such action is thought to boost the practical cooperation on the technology exchange based on demand between the SMEs of two countries.
