Researchers of ASEM Eco-Innovation Index (ASEI) presented the outcome of ASEI 2016 that analyzes and compares national status of eco-innovation in Asia-Europe at the Korean Environmental Management Society Seminar, held at Konkuk University on December 20th, 2016. Around 50 related experts from academia, government institutes and industry were gathered to discuss and make cooperative progress on topics like environmental regulations and policy on industrial convergence, as well as, integrated environmental management scheme and industry’s responses.
ASEI research was presented at the afternoon session, and was evaluated as the only and meaningful research that assesses 51 countries’ eco-innovation encompassing Asia and Europe. Through the discussion, experts suggested to develop distinctive evaluation method and diversify analysis of index to reflect different situations each country has. Professor Mi-Sun Park of Konkuk University, the project leader of ASEI 2016 research commented that ASEI can be further analyzed in sectoral approach in the future, and ASEIC is striving to conduct co-research and publish country case reports with ASEM member countries to qualitatively improve and reflect the real status of eco-innovation in each country. |
