ASEM inclusive eco-innovation program : eco-innovation technology
07 Jul 2016
ASEIC, the ASEM SMEs Eco-Innovation Center, operates an online platform called ASEIN, the ASEM SMEs Eco-Innovation Network (http://.asein.aseic.org), which provides services for SMEs of ASEM member states where they can search for eco-innovation technologies in need or register their own technologies possible for them to supply. This system is linked with offline technology-matching events to accelerate technology exchange between companies.

As a pilot project, ASEIC will run the 2016 ASEM inclusive eco-innovation program in a total of 6 countries from Asia and Europe, 3 for each continent. These countries include Hungary, Slovakia and Czech Republic from Europe Indonesia, Laos and Korea from ASIA. SMEs in these market can participate in technology matching service events.

As the first step for project kick off, ASEIC visited European partner organizations in June. In Hungary, IFKA, the Public Foundation for the Development of Industry, and KSZGYSZ, Association of Environmental Enterprises, agreed for future cooperation regarding environmental technology. In Slovakia, SBA, Slovak Business agency, was deeply interested in cooperation and eco-innovative technology matching with Korean companies, especially in the fields of automobile and IT industry. As an organization owned half by the ministry of economy of Slovakia and the other half by the European Union, SBA aims to support SMEs in Slovakia. Recently, SBA moved to a brand new building equipped with facilities, laboratories and offices to support young entrepreneurs and start-ups in Slovakia such as prototype production. They are planning to continuously support SMEs with various programs. Finally, in Czech Republic, ASEIC had discussions with CEMC, the Czech Environment Management Center (www.cemc.cz), which is an association of Czech experts and businesses in the field of industrial ecology. They publish a periodic magazine named ‘Forum’ which has over 10,000 subscribers nationwide, specializing on waste.

The relevant news on recruiting companies and information of the matching event will be announced on the ASEIC homepage in August.
