Strengthening Korea-Indonesia Cooperation through Green Business Center!

Since December 2014, after obtaining a legal status as the representative office of ASEIC, the ASEM SMEs Eco-Innovation Center, 2015 was a breakthrough year for the Green Business Center (GBC). The occupancy rate of offices marked over 80% in average, and various activities and programs were implemented to support tenant SMEs of GBC.

- Periodic Tenant Meetings : Listening to difficulties and recommendations of tenants
- Indonesian Language Course : Teaching the Indonesian language to support easy local adaptation.
- Legislation and accounting seminars : Supporting settlement by providing legal and financial information and education.
- Korea-Indonesia Demand & Support Technology Matching Project


 Also, GBC made lots of cooperative relations with diverse organizations.

- Embassies and Chambers of Commerce and Industries of ASEM member countries in Indonesia, KOTRA etc
- MOUs with a law firm, accounting firm and consulting firm.
- MOUs with the LINC (Leaders in INdustry-university Cooperation) team of Catholic University and Daejeon University in Korea.


For the purpose to not only maintain, but to strengthen this cooperative relation with Indonesia in the coming year 2016, Mr. Chulan Choi, the director of SMBA (Small & Medium Business Administration) of Korea, has visited Indonesia during 23~25, November 2015.

During this period, a meeting has been held, between SMBA of Korea and KUKM (Ministry of Cooperatives and SMEs) of Indonesia. Mr. Chulan Choi and Mr. Meliadi Sembiring, the deputy director of KUKM, has delightfully agreed for new programs to reinforce cooperations between both countries.

- Internship Program of Korean Students : Sending Korean university students to Indonesian government agencies as internship for global experience
- INDONESIA SMEs Support Desk : Help Indonesian SMEs wishing to enter into the Korean market by providing consultation service, information etc.

In addition, animated by the successful result from the 2015 Korea-Indonesia Demand & Support Technology Matching Project, both countries have agreed to consolidate and expand this technology matching program to another level, which can become into an unique service only implemented by GBC. As an outcome, 2 MOUs were signed respectively between Korea and Indonesia SMEs.

 

  

 

GBC, after its encouraging operation in 2015, is expecting a bright future. If 2015 was the year to solidify its business basis, 2016 is being expected to be the year to genuinely perform the role as a bridge to accelerate the cooperation between Korea and Indonesia.

Established in 2011 in cooperation with the Ministry of Cooperative and SMEs of Indonesia and the Small & Medium Business Administration of Korea, in the form of a matching-fund, the Indonesia Green Business Center(GBC) is an organization with the purpose of supporting SMEs of the ASEM member countries wishing to enter into a new market in the fields of eco-friendly and eco-innovative technological industry.
